Energetic arts and entertainment
Greater Sacramento’s arts and entertainment scene is experiencing a renaissance, bringing new talent and an exciting energy to the region. Home to the NBA team the Sacramento Kings, the Sacramento Republic FC professional soccer team and the River Cats, a Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, the region provides family-friendly sports entertainment year-round.
Local and international artists use blank walls and alleyways in Sacramento as their canvas as a part of the Wide Open Walls festival, turning the city into a must-see outdoor art gallery. Whether it’s visual art, Broadway plays, ballet, comedy or musicals, the region has a diverse menu to select from.

Top-rated food, wineries, breweries and shopping
With a world-renowned agriculture industry and talented chefs locally sourcing their ingredients, it’s no wonder why Greater Sacramento is America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital. In 2019 Michelin announced that it would bring its guide to Sacramento. One Sacramento restaurant was awarded a Michelin star and ten others were given the Michelin Plates designation, setting the dining scene heads and shoulders above the region’s competitors.
It’s not just the ingredients that are sourced locally, but also the beer and wine. Residents and visitors can enjoy a full day of wine tasting in El Dorado, Placer, Yolo or Sacramento County. Beer drinkers can get their fill as well, as microbreweries abound in the region, each as unique as the one before.
If food, wine and beer are not enough, the shopping scene is the icing on the cake. From malls to specialty local shops with one-of-a kind items, the Greater Sacramento region has residents and visitors covered.
